Presso Bar 15 Review: A Full Month on the Counter

Omar Farouk · Coffee Editor Last updated: July 8, 2026
Quick verdict
8.4 / 10

Consistent crema and build quality that clearly outclasses its price — the best serious entry point to home espresso. The small water tank is the cost of its compact size.

Real-use notes

For a full month, every morning started with two shots from this machine, across three roast levels of beans. The biggest surprise was consistency: once you dial in the grind, you get the same crema and the same extraction time day after day.

The steam wand is better than we expected at this price: after a week of practice we could pour microfoam fine enough for a simple latte heart. Switching between brewing and steaming takes only a few seconds.

The one genuine annoyance is the tank: 1.1 L means refilling every couple of days for two people, and mid-session refills when guests are over. We’d also swap the bundled plastic tamper for a cheap metal one — the difference is tangible.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a separate grinder?

For best results, yes. Pre-ground espresso works, but a burr grinder noticeably improves the shot.

Can it steam milk properly?

Yes — the wand produces microfoam good enough for latte art after some practice.

How often does it need descaling?

Roughly every 2–3 months with medium-hard water; a reminder light tells you when.

Is the water tank really that small?

At 1.1 L it covers about 6–8 shots plus steaming before a refill — fine for two people, tight with guests.

Alternatives worth considering

Bottom line: the best serious start in home espresso If you’re willing to learn the basics of dialing in, it rewards you every morning.
